Vision & Mission

Vision

The overall vision of the Ethnos Network is to create:

"Global Churches for Global University Towns"

  • We believe that Jesus is on the move today, creating transformational, multiethnic Jesus communities all around the world.
  • We believe He is calling us to plant and grow these sort of communities in global university towns.

Ethnos' Story: the next 5 years

  • Here's how we're seeking to live that out in our specific context:

"University City is a unique neighborhood to where people from different locations and backgrounds move. Adjusting to a new place, they often feel disconnected and lonely as they transition to a different culture, language, school situation, and job without the support of family and friends. We want to see our neighborhood changed.

We see ourselves as a catalyst for connection and friendship. In the next five years, Ethnos community will courageously respond to God’s invitation to be agents of His love in the lives of those around us -- loving the stranger, the neighbor, the co-worker, the international, the student -- extending friendship and help, and ultimately inviting them into our spiritual family. We see those who were formerly disconnected, lonely, and living individual lives engaged in friendship, deep connection, and belonging.

We see ourselves being a blessing to our community through forming a community center that is a source of practical help and guidance, a space where friendship can grow. As a result of embracing our individual and community mission, we see people from different cultures, backgrounds and walks of life seated together at the table of fellowship as brothers and sisters. Our oneness is a display of God’s reconciling power and grace.

Knowing that we can only love and serve our community if Jesus is the source of our strength, we will engage in spiritual practices and make ourselves available for God’s Spirit to transform us to be like Him. We will teach and equip one another to impact the world for Jesus. Join us on this transformative journey."
