Happening after service. If you’re newer to Ethnos this season, we’d love to treat you to a free lunch, get to know each others’ stories, and answer any questions you have about our church. Join us at Leucadia Pizza.

Sabbath Sunday - Sept 6th

There will be no service or live stream on Sunday, Sept 6th, as we practice Sabbath rest. We encourage people to spend time in God, reflecting on His goodness and love.

Potluck Picnic - Sept 13th

Our next monthly picnic will be Sunday, September 13th after service. Join us at Doyle Park and bring a dish to share.

What is a way you feel ordinary?

1 Corinthians 12:7-11
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

God gives a diversity of gifts through the Holy Spirit, so that every member has an important role in building up the body of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-16
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Our gifts are for the building up of the body of Christ.

Community Prayer

Prayer Against Xenophobia

• Pray for God to break the spirit of homogeneity (lack of diversity) in our churches, schools, and country.
• Pray for healing in our society’s polarized conversations, especially around politics and culture.
• Pray for the Church to lead the way in reconciling relationships where barriers have been raised.
• Pray for God to work in our own hearts to transform the parts of us that fear and protect ourselves from those who are different.
