Potluck Picnic 7/5 - Our next potluck picnic is today, Sunday, July 5th. This summer we want to be intentional about building relationships with each other and the community, so we hope that you will join us! The potluck will happen right after service at Doyle Park. Bring a dish to share and enjoy a meal together with friends.

Outdoor Service 7/19 - This summer we're holding outdoors services this 3rd Sunday of every month. Bring a chair or blanket and join us on the lawn in front of Doyle Elementary.

Help With Sunday Setup - We're looking for some volunteers to help with Sunday morning setup Aug 9th - Sept 6th. Sign up today!

A Series in the Book of 1st John

How do you make decisions about what to eat?

1 John 4:1-3
1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

Spiritual forces are spreading false messages. Jesus is the lens to determine what is true.

1 John 4:4-6
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

We should actively be filtering what we hear from the world.

What is the "viewpoint of the world"?

Counter the false prophets by speaking the truth.

Community Prayer

Earthquake Recovery - Venezuela

Pray for provision for all those in need of housing, repairs, and supplies.
Pray for strength for the church leaders helping in recovery and caring for members for the community.
Pray for God’s care and healing for those who lost loved ones and those experiencing trauma as they help in recovery efforts.
