Praying For Graduates 5/31 - It’s graduation season at Ethnos, and we want to celebrate and pray for our community members transitioning to the next stage of life. A special prayer time for graduates will be held in a couple of weeks. If you're graduating, please inform Pastor Scott or Pastor Mariah to ensure your inclusion.

Potluck Picnic 5/31 - Join us for a picnic lunch together on Sunday, May 31st! After service, we’ll be heading to Doyle Park for food and fellowship. Please bring a dish to share.

Volunteer Appreciation 6/6 - We’re so grateful for everyone who serves our Ethnos community. To honor your efforts, we’re hosting a special picnic on Saturday, June 6th. Expect an invitation from your ministry team leader soon. Your contributions make our community shine!

Book Club 6/14 - Our next Book Club kicks off on June 14th! We'll be reading The Good and Beautiful Life by James Bryan Smith, exploring how to experience God's transformative power. Sign up at the back table, and purchase your own copy to start reading. Meetings are on Sundays during lunch, starting June 14th.

Walking In The Light

1 John 1:1-4
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We write this to make our joy complete.

Jesus truly came in the flesh to touch our lives.

1 John 1:5-2:2
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

John corrects the false Christianity:

• 1:6 If we say, “We have fellowship with him,” yet walk in darkness
• 1:7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light…
• 1:8 If we say, “We have no sin”
• 1:9 But if we confess our sins…
• 1:10 If we say, “We have not sinned”
• 2:1 But if anybody does sin…

Jesus wants to walk with us in our lived reality, every day.

• Guiding your complete steps
• Forgiving our complete sin
• Securing us in His complete love

Community Prayer

Prayer Against Violence and Hatred

• Pray for healing and support for the families and individuals affected by Monday’s shooting.
• Pray for togetherness in the wider community and interfaith partnerships.
• Pray for God’s truth to push out racial and religious hate and extremism.
• Pray for love and compassion to put an end to gun violence.
