Healthy Conflict

Healthy Conflict

Feb 22, 2026

Passage:Matt. 5:21-24

Pastor: Scott Eng

Series: Emotionally Healthy Relationships

Category: New Testament

Keywords: love, jesus, god, anxiety, healthy relationship, stressful situations, stress or danger response, resolving issues, false peacemaking

Summary:

When facing danger/stress, which is your typical response? a) Fight- face aggressively. b) Flight- run. c) Freeze- unable to move or act. d) Fawn- appease someone to avoid conflict. e)Flop- collapse, go limp. Instead of resolving our issues, we often engage in False Peacemaking by Keeping the peace or Appeasing people. When we don't address issues, we grow more angry, become bitter, and carry anxiety. Should focus on the problem as the problem. Be aware of where our emotions want to go. See the humanity in others. This is God's way of love. Unresolved anger hinders worship of God.
