If you’re newer to our church community, we’d like to invite you to our upcoming Newcomer Lunch at Leucadia’s Pizza. It’ll be at 12pm on Sunday, June 1st, right after service. This event is a great opportunity for you to learn more about who we are and what we’re all about.

6/22 - Member Meeting
Please join us for our Member Meeting on Sunday, June 22nd right after service as we discuss our church finances and budget for the next fiscal year. All members are encouraged to attend - if you're a regular attendee and are interested in membership, reply to this email to let us know!

Ethnos Parents - New webpage to reduce paper waste! We're thrilled to introduce our Weekly Parent Cue webpage, where you can find resources to support your child's spiritual growth. This webpage is accessible with the passcode EthnosKids92122. It features weekly devotionals and guides that connect to what your kid/s learned in Sunday class! Check it out.

Community Groups (CG) - Community Groups are our way of connecting with one another throughout the week. Our hope is to foster friendships where we can be seen and heard in our authentic selves, and experience God's goodness with one another. On Faith, God & the Bible

On a scale of 0-10, how awkward do you feel talking about the topic of sex?

Question: What should the church be saying about sex?

• The non-Christian world says a lot about sex, but is probably missing the fullness of what God intended sex to be.
• Satan is trying to corrupt sex and bring us down.
• Sex is often not talked about in Christianity. Either simply "Sex is good; God created it," or "Sex is bad; avoid this list of stuff," which can lead to shame/guilt around sex, both when single and even after getting married.

Three Aspects of Intimacy

• Physical
• Emotional
• Spiritual (Covenantal)

Physical

Genesis 2:24 

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Emotional

"knowing"

• Genesis 4:1 (ESV) Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten a man with the help of the Lord.”
• Hosea 2:19-20 (ESV) And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the Lord.

Spiritual (Covenantal)

Matthew 5:27-28  “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

How does paying attention to all three aspects of sex help us?

• Meeting deeper needs
• Performance anxiety vs. acceptance
• Mutually giving and receiving

• Pray that our CGs help everyone feel seen, heard, and supported.
• Ask for God to work through conversations and relationships to grow our community in faith and love.
• Pray for God’s favor in efforts to serve needs in the local community and that others would experience God’s love.
