Finding Peace In An Anxious World

What has someone said that has stuck with you over the years?

Peace In An Anxious World

  • 3/8 What We Seek
  • 3/15 Where We Run
  • 3/22 What We Hear
  • 3/29 What We Need
  • 4/5 No Longer Hiding

Voices & Anxiety

  • Our own voice
  • The voice of others
  • The voice of our past
  • The voice of the world
  • The voice of the enemy
  • The voice of God

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The voice of the enemy

  • Temptation
  • Accusation
  • Lies
  • Promotion of sin
  • Fear

John 10:2-5, 10

2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

God's voice brings peace.

John 14:25-27

25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

God's voice brings peace.

  • Spend time listening to the voice of God.
  • Let mature Christians speak into our lives.
  • Help others hear God's voice over the others.
