EquipCon (3/21-22): There’s a conference coming up in our neighborhood that we wanted to invite you to, that’s all about bringing Jesus to our community. Grace City is hosting EquipCon on March 21-22, that’s a Friday and Saturday. We know most of you work, but Saturday is especially geared towards all church members. And as a highlight, our founding pastor Yucan Chiu will be one of the speakers. You can register for one or both days here - https://www.equipcon.co/.
Parent Workshop (MAR 23) - Parents, mark your calendars! Our next Parent Workshop is happening on Sunday, March 23, right after church service. This will be a great opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with other parents as we dive into meaningful conversations about faith and family. Stay tuned—more details on the topic and schedule are coming soon!
Sabbath Sunday (MAR 30) - Our next Sabbath Sunday will be happening on March 30th. Rest is an important value here at Ethnos, as Jesus modeled it regularly for us. Because of that, we invite you to join us in practicing sabbath rest as we will not be having any in-person or online services that day.
Book Club (APR) - Our book clubs are a way to explore and grow in specific topics. The next one starting in April will be on Effective Intercultural Evangelism. Have you ever wondered how to move conversations toward spiritual topics? We’ll discuss how our friendships can be part of someone’s journey towards Jesus, as well as learn about how different cultural worldviews can affect our understanding of God. Whether you want to go deeper in your relationships or want to understand the intricacies of cross-cultural relationships, this book club is for you. You can sign-up at the table in the back or send an email to
Ethnos Parents - New webpage to reduce paper waste! We're thrilled to introduce our Weekly Parent Cue webpage, where you can find resources to support your child's spiritual growth. What is something you've had to give up?
Matthew 16:21-27
21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
Dying to self can bring us life.
Living simply is not about suffering, but freedom.
Living simply allows us to fall more in love with Jesus.
What other loves do we have?
